Kathryn Linn Geurts, professor of anthropology in the Department of Global and International Studies, recently published an article in The Senses and Society. As a pioneer in the interdisciplinary field of multi-sensory ethnography, Dr. Geurts drew on more than 30 years of work with Anlo-Ewe collaborators (from southeastern Ghana) to propose that African indigenous ways-of-knowing challenge many of the presumptions of Western (academic) psychology. .
