In her inaugural address, President Mayme K. Hostetter encouraged the university community to build on its past and present milestones as it envisions its role preparing students for the future.

Members of �鶹��ƵAPK’s class of 1975 and earlier celebrated their golden anniversary of graduation by reconnecting with classmates, reminiscing about their favorite professors and offering advice for current students.

President Hostetter made her debut at CHS Field — home of �鶹��ƵAPK Baseball — for �鶹��ƵAPK Night at the St. Paul Saints vs. Worcester Red Sox on July 24, 2025. After throwing out a ceremonial first pitch, she stopped in the broadcast booth to share her thoughts about what makes �鶹��ƵAPK special and how the opportunity to lead us brought her home to Minnesota.

More than 100 guests gathered on Friday, June 13, to celebrate the dedication of Anderson Center's east patio as Fayneese S. Miller Plaza, in honor of our 20th president.

On Tuesday, July 1, 2025, �鶹��ƵAPK officially welcomed Dr. Mayme Hostetter as its 22nd president. Dr. Hostetter, a founding leader of New York City's Relay Graduate School of Education, brings a commitment to student success and a desire to work with the �鶹��ƵAPK community as a team player.

Crystal L. Stein ’10, Founder and CEO of Beret Publishing, captivated the audience at the Anderson Center on May 5 with a reading from her groundbreaking children’s book series, Echoes of Excellence.

An event entitled “Rise: Student/Alumni Networking Reception” was hosted by the Alumni Relations Office, Career Development Center and Alumni Board of Directors, which also had a crucial role in designing the program.

As 2025 marks the 80th anniversary of the atomic bombing of Nagasaki and St. Paul's 70th year as a sister city to Nagasaki, former St. Paul Mayor and �鶹��ƵAPK professor Jim Scheibel led a group of nine �鶹��ƵAPK students to Nagasaki on Jan. 12-19. This transformative experience offered students time and opportunity to deeply reflect on the impact the atomic bombing had on Nagasaki, Japan and the world.

�鶹��ƵAPK graduate adjunct professor Erin Entrada Kelly was recently awarded the 2025 John Newbery Medal for her novel The First State of Being. The prestigious award, given by the American Library Association, recognizes the year’s most outstanding contribution to children's literature.
